Coral Essentials Carbonate Up
$39.95
Coral Essentials has just expanded their range to now include powdered supplements. These powders offer the highest yield based on price per litre and at the same time offering maximum precision in your daily dosing.
Our Coral Essentials Carbonate Up is concentrated Sodium Carbonate anhydrous granules at minimum 99.2% purity, in a handy 1.8kg bucket. For those marine reefers with large tanks it is an extremely cost effective way of providing your carbonate/alkalinity dosing. You can follow our simple recipe to make up solutions at 180,000ppm to match the carbonate concentration of our renowned Carbonate + Trace pre-mix liquid solution, the full bucket makes up 10L at 180,000ppm. You can also use the familiar Randy’s 1 and 2 mixes. All instructions for the above are detailed on the bucket itself. Then simply add our Power Trace C, Bromide and Boron for the complete carbonate dosing additive with essential trace elements. For optimum results the alkalinity (KH) levels in marine tanks need to be checked regularly to determine the uptake in your system. Simply calculate dosing requirements to suit the depletion rate. After you have determined this, a regular check of the alkalinity levels should be made. Your tank will change over time as coral grows, new pieces are added as well as invertebrates that also take up carbonate. We have found ideal KH levels to be at about 8-9 dKH for most aquariums. Levels of 8.5 – 9.0 dKH are desirable if you want to maintain high levels of growth in a SPS and hard coral dominant system.
