How to use product:

TEST YOUR AQUARIUM’S PHOSPHATE LEVEL PRIOR TO USE. It is recommended to maintain phosphate levels below 0.03ppm.

Six drops of Phosphate Control will lower your phosphate by 0.5ppm for every 10 gallons (37.9L) of water. DO NOT LOWER YOUR PHOSPHATES MORE THAN .5ppm IN A 24-HOUR PERIOD. For best results, place drops directly into your protein skimmer or add in high flow areas, one drop at a time. Some temporary cloudiness may occur when adding this product. Cloudiness will clear within 24-hours. For accurate results, wait 24-hours before retesting your phosphate level. Wait ten minutes before dosing other supplements. Test regularly and treat as necessary.

Caution:

Yellow tangs can be sensitive to the recommended dosage of Phosphate Rx, and can be irritated when using this product. Additionally, some wrasses may also be sensitive to this products use and we recommend spreading out the recommended dosage over 2 or more parts. It is reccomended that a 5 or 10 micron filtersock to collect the precipitate. Do not dose directly in the display tank, dose in an overflow or in skimming chamber.

How to use product:

For best results, siphon out as much Cyano Bacteria as possible from your aquarium. Remove a cup of water from your aquarium. Mix 1 level scoop of Red Cyano Rx in the cup for every 10 gallons (37.9 liters) of water in your aquarium. Dissolve thoroughly and pour solution into the aquarium.

After 24 hours of completing treatment perform a 25% water change and you may now turn back ON Protein skimmer, resume use of carbon and ozone, although you may notice extra foam being produced by your Skimmer. If Cyano Bacteria is still viable, 48 hours after treatment, perform a 25% water change and repeat dosage.

Note:

It is recommended that the pH in your aquarium be greater than 8.0, before you begin to add Red Cyano Rx. This product may reduce the Ph and can affect the Alkalinity in your aquarium, so it is recommended that you use a buffering agent and monitor your Ph and Alkalinity when dosing Red Cyano Rx.  The best time to start treatment with Red Cyano Rx is in the morning, when lighting first comes on. During the day time Ph trends upward and at night tends to fall. Algae growth in your aquarium will cause your Ph to decrease, and using Red Cyano Rx, while having an overall beneficial effect, warrants caution and monitoring of Ph and Alkalinity. It is very important to perform a 25% water change, following each course of treatment. You will need to discontinue the use of carbon, protein skimming, and ozone during the treatment period. Do not dose in the evenings when lighting is turned off.
