ITC PARwise PRO

$674.95

PARwise PRO is ITC Aquatics latest tool which ends the questions of what setting should my lights be on,whether that be brightness, colour (spectrum) or photoperiod.

What does the PARwise Pro give you extra?

Aside the 8 new parameters and a wider spectral measurement range – For the hobbyist, it gives them the confidence that you are correctly setting your spectrum rather than just measuring it. For every coral saved and coral growth improved means PARwise PRO pays for itself very quickly.

cPUR explained

cPUR – ‘Coral Photosynthetically Usable Radiation’ is a light measurement specifically designed for corals. PAR does not tell us whether the light we’re measuring is any good for coral growth. You can have a high PAR level but it be all in the wrong part of the spectrum. As a measurement, it is very outdated!

PARwise helped to alleviate that issue by allowing users to measure the spectrum –but it didn’t go as far as telling the user what they needed to do.
PARwise PRO and cPUR takes this to the next level and removes this extra step in one measurement as well as providing a much greater spectral measurement range and additional features. The cPUR measurement only includes the light wavelengths and intensity of light that corals can use & excludes the wavelengths that corals do not efficiently use for photosynthetic processes or fluorescent protein

The green background on the graph above is the absorbance area for all coral chlorophyll and colour pigments. The blue spectrum (measured light – a Kessil) is compared against it, including the brightness level to give the CPUR value. The light outside of the optimal range is ignored in the result.

What else is new with the PARwise PRO?

Additional Spectral Range

Now with NEAR UV-A and Infrared Spectrum Analyser

PARwise PRO now measures from 350nm to 1100nm
Our spectrum measurement now encompasses Near UV-A & Infrared –
Picking up all the important NUV wavelengths for corals and wasted energy
in heat from IR! – You can even see the yellow light and the heat from a
flame!

Enhanced Time analyser- cPUR over time

Daily Light Integral (DLI) is based on the PAR spectrum – in order to replace
This outdated measurement, we now have cPUR Light Integral to use. This
gives us the ability to measure the suitable coral light levels over time, using
the cPUR weighted result.
