The Lori’s Anthias is peach to orange in colour, with broad darker stripes on the dorsal part of the body.
If kept singly, a four foot aquarium is sufficient; however, if keeping a group of Lori’s Anthias, use a 300 litre aquarium or larger. This variety is more docile than most Anthias varieties and will normally be harassed by other more pugnacious species of Anthias if kept in the same aquarium together. Groups of Anthias should be limited to all juveniles or females, and only one male. Numerous caves and other hiding places should be provided so that the more passive fish among the group can find shelter.
Once acclimated to a new aquarium, anthias do best when fed a varied diet of frozen mysis shrimp, enriched frozen brine shrimp, and over time may eat high-quality flake foods offered in small quantities throughout the day. An attached refugium cultivating copepods and amphipods provides a steady supply of nutritious live food sure to keep this active planktivore content.
