The Red Margin Shrimp Goby has a white body with broad pink bands and tiny red-orange spots. The dorsal fin has orange dots and is highlighted with red and blue bands.
As a species of shrimp goby that forms a symbiotic relationship with alpheid (pistol) shrimp, the Red Margin Shrimp Goby develops a unique bond and cohabitates with the burrowing crustacean providing a watchful eye while the shrimp digs a burrow for them to share.
It should be kept in a 35 litre or larger aquarium with a sand covered bottom to make burrows in. It prefers to have peaceful tank mates and plenty of hiding places. Small groups or pairs tend to do better in an aquarium, but need to be introduced to the tank simultaneously.
The diet should consist of a variety of fresh or frozen seafood, brine shrimp, and mysis shrimp. It needs to be fed twice per day.
