The Leaf Scorpionfish range in colouration from red, pink, purple or yellow depending on its environment. In an aquarium, it will often rock back and forth resembling a leaf in the water.
This scorpionfish requires a 100 litre or larger tank. It is not overly aggressive, but may eat smaller fish or invertebrates. Like other members of this family it will often shed its protective slime coating to rid its body of unwanted detritus, and to protect it against infections.
When first introduced into the aquarium, live feeder shrimp should be used to entice this fish to eat. The diet of the Leaf Scorpion can include small fish and shrimp.
