The Thompson’s Surgeonfish is a plankton-eating tang with a uniformly dark brownish-purple body with blue accents highlighting its fins and tail.
They prefer feeding on zooplankton, fish eggs, and crustaceans. Provide plenty of water movement and aeration to best replicate their natural habitat.
Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health.
